Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
The short version
We collect the information we need to take your reservation, answer your questions, and send you the occasional newsletter if you’ve asked for one. We don’t sell your information. We use a small set of trusted vendors (named below) to run the booking system, the website, and our email list. You can ask us what we have, ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe at any time.
If you’d rather skip the details, the contact information is at the bottom. We’re happy to answer questions.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the website at glenarborlodging.com, operated by Glen Arbor Bed & Breakfast and Condos, 6548 Western Ave, Glen Arbor, MI 49636.
When this policy says “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean Glen Arbor Bed & Breakfast and Condos. When it says “you,” we mean the person visiting the site or staying with us.
What we collect
Information you give us through the website. When you send us a message through our contact form or sign up for our newsletter, you give us things like your name, email address, phone number, and any details you choose to include in your message.
Reservation and payment information. When you click “Book Now” or any reservation link on our website, you are sent to our reservation system, ThinkReservations, at secure.thinkreservations.com. All booking details and payment information you enter there are collected and stored by ThinkReservations on their servers, not ours. ThinkReservations is PCI-compliant and handles card processing through their payment processor. After you complete a reservation, ThinkReservations passes the resulting reservation record (your name, contact info, stay dates, room, total paid) to us so we can prepare for your arrival.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours logs basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and how you got to the site. We use this to understand how the site is performing and to fix problems.
Cookies and tracking. Our site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for analytics and embedded content. Specifically:
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager measure how visitors use the site. GTM is a script container that loads our other Google tags.
- Embedded Google Maps, YouTube videos, and Google reviews load directly from Google’s servers. When you view a page containing one of these embeds, Google receives your IP address and basic visit information.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also block cookies entirely in your browser, though some site features may not work as expected.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Take and manage your reservation, including communicating with you before, during, and after your stay
- Respond to inquiries you send through the site or by email
- Send our newsletter, if you’ve opted in (and only then)
- Improve the website and understand how guests use it
- Meet our legal and tax obligations
We do not use your information for advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

Each vendor has its own privacy policy governing how it handles the data we pass to it.
We may also disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order, lawful government request) or if needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of our guests, our staff, or the public.
If the business is ever sold or transferred, guest information may be part of what changes hands. If that happens, the new owners will be bound by this policy or will notify you of any changes.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation records and related communications as long as we need them for business, tax, and legal purposes, typically seven years for financial records. Newsletter subscriber information is kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ default retention period (currently 14 months).
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Ask us what information we have about you
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to records we’re legally required to keep)
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we don’t do either, but the right exists). California’s older “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section 1798.83) also lets you request information about any disclosures we may have made for direct marketing purposes.
EU and UK residents have rights under the GDPR including access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. Our lawful basis for processing reservation information is performance of a contract; our basis for the newsletter is your consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at stay@glenarborlodging.com.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for the entire site and reliance on PCI-compliant payment processing through ThinkReservations. No website can promise perfect security, but we take the responsibility seriously.
Children
The site is intended for adults booking lodging. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
Browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry standard for honoring DNT, our site does not currently respond to these signals. You can still control tracking using the cookie and analytics controls described above.
Third-party links
The site links out to other websites such as local businesses, the National Lakeshore, vendors, and so on. This policy doesn’t cover those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy practices before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be announced on the homepage or by email to active newsletter subscribers.
