Glen Arbor Artisan Holiday Marketplace

5 Festive Reasons to Explore the Glen Arbor Artisan Holiday Marketplace

Although Glen Arbor Bed & Breakfast is closed in the winter, our team proudly supports the planning and execution of the Glen Arbor Artisan Holiday Marketplace and all the related activities. This joyous community event takes place each year on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. If you are lucky enough to be in Glen Arbor that weekend, carve out some time to celebrate our town at the Holiday Marketplace and share in the other happenings. Let’s explore a few of the reasons we love to attend this holly jolly event.

Glen Arbor Tree Lighting

1. Sing Along at the Tree Lighting. Friday, 6:15 Sharp

The township of Glen Arbor comes together each year at the Holiday Tree Lighting to kick off the winter holiday season. On the Friday after Thanksgiving several hundred neighbors gather on the lawn of Township Hall. Friends and strangers alike sing classic carols with the help of the worship team from a local church. Then, a Township leader lights up the glorious tree before the doors to the Marketplace open for you to have a first look at the artisans’ offerings.

The Perfect Wreath

2. Pick the Perfect Wreath

Because the Holiday Marketplace happens just after Thanksgiving, it’s the prime time to purchase holiday greenery. Adorn the interior and exterior of your home with gorgeous garlands, wreaths and swags from the lovely traditional greenhouse, Pleasanton Valley Nursery. At the Holiday Marketplace, you can select your sweet-smelling favorites from the many wonderful choices in the vestibule and on the lawn at the Township Hall.

Shop and Stroll the Township Hall

3. Shop and Stroll the Township Hall

Shopping locally at the Holiday Marketplace is a great way to cross people off your Christmas list early! Stroll the Township Hall and see what products jump out to you. You’re sure to find unique, hand-crafted works that would mean so much to the recipients.

Special Artisan Goods

4. Score Special Artisan Goods

There’s a reason it’s called the Artisan Holiday Marketplace! The offerings from local artisans are the best part of the whole affair. Choose jewelry pieces and vintage signs, notecards, framed photos and pastels, colorful scarves and sweatshirts, soaps and fiber works. Too, homemade goodies and local maple syrup are perfect to use as holiday gifts or to feed your loved ones at a merry party.

Santa at the M22 Shore Wine Patio

5. And in a special turn for 2021, say Hey to Santa at the enclosed M22 Shore Wine Patio just down the street. Get the perfect photo, 11:00-1:00 on Saturday

There can’t be a holiday kickoff event without a visit from Jolly Old St. Nick! Stop by Santa and Mrs. Claus to share your secret wishes – or wishes for that wonderful child in your life. Don’t forget to snap a photo!
